A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA,
AWARDING BID 2526-05 MARY STREET DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS
PROJECT TO THE KENTON GROUP; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO EXECUTE THE CONTRACT AND PURCHASE ORDERS IN
ACCORDANCE WITH AND AS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE
PROVISIONS OF THIS RESOLUTION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE
WHEREAS, the purpose of this project is to select a Contractor to perform stormwater drainage
improvements along Mary Street and portions of Stewart Street in Atlantic Beach; and
WHEREAS, on January 28, 2026, nine bids were received and opened for Bid 2526-05 Mary
Street Drainage Improvements; and
WHEREAS, the bids ranged from $774,040.30 to $267,971, with The Kenton Group being the
lowest bidder; and
WHEREAS, the cost for the project will be fully funded from the $415,000 currently budgeted
in the Flood Control/Infrastructure Account # 470-0000-538-63.00, under project number PW2624. This
project will also be reimbursed at 75% under the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP)
administered by the Florida Department of Emergency Management.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach as
follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby awards Bid 2526-05 Mary Street Drainage
Improvements to The Kenton Group;
SECTION 2. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute the contract
with The Kenton Group and approve a Purchase Order to said vendor in the amount of $267,971;
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
