A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, AGREEING TO TERMS OF THE FIRST
AMENDMENT TO THE INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY
OF JACKSONVILLE REGARDING FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICES;
PROVIDING FOR REDUCED PAYMENTS; PROVIDING FOR
QUARTERLY PAYMENTS; PROVIDING FOR A COMMENCEMENT
AND EXPIRATION DATE FOR SAID REDUCED PAYMENTS;
PROVIDING FOR THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CONTRACTS
AND PURCHASE ORDERS TO EFFECUATE THE PROVISIONS OF THIS
RESOLUTION; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Atlantic Beach ("COAB") and the City of Jacksonville ("COJ")
entered into an Agreement dated September 3, 2025, for the delivery of Advanced Life Support
Fire and Rescue Services to Atlantic Beach residents and businesses; and
WHEREAS, the current term of said Contract is set to expire on May 31, 2026; and
WHEREAS, both parties desire to extend the term of the Contract for one additional year,
through May 31, 2027, to ensure the continued delivery of essential fire and rescue services; and
WHEREAS, the parties have established a new annual fee of $711,746.40 for the duration
of this extended term, payable in four equal quarterly installments of $177,936.60; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that extending this agreement is in the best
interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Atlantic Beach.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Approval of First Amendment. The City Commission hereby approves the
First Amendment to the Agreement between the City of Atlantic Beach and the City of
Jacksonville for Fire and Rescue Services, as attached hereto.
SECTION 2. Term and Payment Terms.
• Contract Extension: The term of the Agreement is hereby extended through May 31,
2027.
• Annual Payment: Beginning June 1, 2026, COAB shall pay to COJ an annual amount of
$711,746.40.
• Payment Schedule: The annual amount shall be paid in four equal quarterly installments
of $177,936.60, due on or before the first day of each quarter.

SECTION 3. Authorization. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to
execute the First Amendment and take all necessary actions to implement the provisions of this
Resolution, including the execution of purchase orders and related documents.
SECTION 4. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
its adoption.
