The assessment below was performed in accordance with the Tree Risk Assessment
Best Management Practice,2nd Edition(2017).The four palm trees below pose an
unacceptable risk and trimming or pruning will not mitigate it.The removal is the only
practical means of mitigating its risk to below moderate levels
1. Tree Overview and Defects:
A. 28"DBH Phoenix Canariensis Canary island Date Palm Tree
Visibly dead due to Rhynchophorus Ferrugineus,palm weevil infestation.
B. 10"DBH Sabal Palmetto Sabal Palm Tree
The front sabaL palm tree proximity to home causing drainage back flow into the
home and in the path of the proposed drainage pipe installation.
C. 10"DBH Sabal Palmetto Sabal Palm Tree
The right-side sabal palm roots and utilities entanglement combined with the
degrading trunkwith the pronounced lean towards the home.Sabal is located
close to the electric meter.Also,restricting accessibility to the home.
D. 10"DBH Sabal Palmetto SabaL Palm Tree
The right-side sabaL palm tree has narrowing of the trunk base in relation to
height of the tree and proximity to home with a root entanglement with utilities
are visible.Also,restricting accessibility to the home.
2. Mitigation Options:
The above trees should be considered for removal to correct the drainage issues,protect the
home and utilities from further issues.
