The assessment below was performed in accordance with the Tree Risk Assessment Best
Management Practice,2nd Edition(2017).The Live Oak tree poses an
unacceptable risk and trimming or pruning will not mitigate it.The removal is the only
practical means of mitigating its risk to below moderate levels.

Observed advantageous roots throughout underneath previous decking and alongside the
right-side edge of the home.Observed termite damage to the right side of the home due to the
old wood to ground contact and remaining previous old deck posts partially caused by organic
old leaf build up.
4. Mitigation Options:
If tree is to be retained remove the existing decking frame and remove old wood and organic
debris from the area underneath the tree.Obtain and install proper root barrier(Bio-barrier)
along the right side of the home and underneath the decking use termite resistant decking
materials to rebuild deck no wood to ground contact.
If tree is to be removed,remove the tree and grind the stump and have all organic debris
removed.The above live oak tree is an above average condition at the time of inspection with a
moderate lean towards neighboring property.The root system is stable with many
advantageous roots present.
The live oak tree should be considered for removal due to unacceptable proximity,and root
intrusion issues to the home.
