To Whom It May Concern,
As requested, I inspected the cabbage palm (Sabal palmetto) located directly
behind the residence at 740 Bonita Road, Atlantic Beach, Florida.
The palm measures approximately 12 inches in diameter and extends slightly
above the roofline. The base of the tree is situated about 16 inches from the
home's foundation, and the trunk stands only 5 inches from the fascia and
drip edges.
Although the palm is currently in healthy condition, its close proximity to the
structure presents concerns. Over time, the root system and trunk expansion
may place stress on the foundation and adjacent structural components. In my
professional opinion, the limited clearance between the palm and the home
increases the potential for damage. For these reasons, I recommend removing
the palm to prevent future structural issues.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or need further
assistance.
