Atlantic Beach, Fl 32233 In Re: Certified Arborist letter Dear Sir or Madam: Upon inspection of the property, I found two Maple trees and one Water Oak tree that in my professional opinion should be removed. The trees pose an unnecessary risk to person or property. The homeowner had the City of Atlantic Beach’s Arborist out to do a visual inspection of her two Silver Maple trees. The city arborist found some defects in the trees that were causes of concern. I was hired to perform a level two arborist inspection of the trees. Tree #1. The maple tree has a large vertical crack in the main trunk about 20ft off the ground. The crack will eventually cause complete failure of the trunk. The tree is growing in close proximity to the neighbor’s house and the house located at the listed property. When the tree breaks from that point the top of the tree is in striking range of both houses. The tree would cause significant damage to the roof if it landed on it. The tree is a high risk and the only way to reduce the risk to an acceptable level is to remove the tree. Tree #2. The maple tree has significant root decay. The roots are flaring out of the ground and the decay is visible. The decay could lead to complete failure of the tree. The tree is growing in close proximity to the neighbor’s house and the house located at the listed property. If the tree failed it could cause significant to severe damage to both properties. The tree is a ahigh risk and the only way to reduce the risk to an acceptable level is to remove the tree. Tree #3. The Water Oak has been dropping large limbs over the past few years. The trunk and remaining branches show signs of decaying wood. Mushrooms are growing on remaining sections of the branches that fell to the ground. The trunk is discolored and appears to be decaying on the inside of the tree. The tree is in striking distance of the neighbor ’s house and the house Joe Musgrove ISA Certified Arborist® FL-9674A Joe.lucastree@gmail.com (904) 887-1492 located at the listed property. After having a conversation with the homeowner, she does not want to take any chances with the three trees, and has requested they be removed to reduce the likelihood of damage to the two properties. She has also expressed the desire to plant new trees and a privacy hedge between her and the neighbor’s property once the two Maple trees are removed. I will be given Mrs. Dymond options on what trees would grow properly in the limited amount of soil space she has on the property.
