Dear Sir or Madam:
I was hired to do a level two arborist inspection on a Water Oak tree that dropped a large
section of its canopy on the roof of the listed property, causing significant damage. After first
inspecting the branch that fell, I found evidence of severely decayed wood, where the branch was
attached to the trunk of the tree. The tree is growing at a 45-degree angle toward the home located
at the listed property. There are many similar branches still remaining in the tree, that hang over
the house. The tree poses an unnecessary risk to people or property.
After inspecting the trunk, I found signs of decay. The trunk is discolored and very soft. It
also has patches of white rot that signifies decay on the inside of the trunk. The fact that the tree
leans so severely toward the house it is a high risk, and the only way to reduce the risk to an
acceptable level is to remove the tree.
