A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, TO
APPROVE CHANGE ORDER #1 FOR THE 2526-05 MARY STREET
DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE CONTRACT AND PURCHASE ORDERS IN
ACCORDANCE WITH AND AS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE
PROVISIONS OF THIS RESOLUTION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE
WHEREAS, Bid 2526-05 Mary Street Drainage Improvements Project was awarded by City
Commission on March 9, 2026, to Baldwin's Quality Plumbing/The Kenton Group. At the Pre -
Construction meeting, City staff asked the contractor to expand the scope of work to include repair of
failing culverts and concrete driveway repairs. The project came in under budget and staff would like to
use the additional budgeted funds to make these repairs while the project is under construction.; and
WHEREAS, The project had a starting budget of $415,000.00, and the winning bid came in at
$267,971.00. This left a remaining balance of $147,029.00 that can fund the $75,434.00 needed for this
change order. This project will also be reimbursed at 75% under the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program
(HMGP) administered by the Florida Department of Emergency Management; and
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach as
follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby approves Change Order #1 to the 2526-05 Mary
Street Drainage Improvements Project;
SECTION 2. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute the contract
with The Kenton Group and approve a Purchase Order to said vendor in the amount of $75,434.00;
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
