AGENDA ITEM: Sawgrass Chapel Place -Acceptance of Water and Sewer
Infrastructure for City Ownership and Maintenance

BACKGROUND: Construction of water and sewer infrastructure has been completed at
Beaches Habitat's new subdivision on Dutton Island Road West, Sawgrass Chapel Place. The
City administered the project and contributed $50,000 in Community Development Block Grant
funds to the project. The remainder of the construction costs were reimbursed to the City by
Beaches Habitat.
The contractor completed construction in accordance with approved plans. City staff completed
a final inspection, and the Department of Environmental Protection has cleared the water and
sewer systems for service.
The City can therefore assume responsibility for ownership and maintenance of the water and
sewer infrastructure.
BUDGET: No immediate impact to operating budget. The attached schedule of values will
be added to the City's assets.
RECOMMENDATION: Accept the water and sewer infrastructure in the Sawgrass Chapel
Place development for ownership and maintenance by the City of Atlantic Beach.
