01-29-79 v MINUTES OF THE ATLANTIC BEACH ADVISORY PLANNING BOARD HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON MONDAY, JANUARY 29, 1979 AT 7:30 PM PRESENT: Dick Rigsbee Hal Mullins Donna Ross Catherine G. Van Ness, Commissioner ABSENT: John F. Andresen, Chairman The meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM, by Acting Board Chairman Dick Rigsbee for the purpose of discussing the application of Mr. Mike Ash to construct a 16-unit apartment complex at the corner of Poinsettia and Sturdivant in Atlantic Beach. The members of the Board entered into a discussion on the present zoning of four lots owned by Mr. Ash (Lots 696 through 699, SALTAIR, Section 3) versus the PUD requested by the applicant for these same four lots. Mr. Ash explained his proposed use of the four lots via submission of plans calling for a 16-unit complex. He also pointed out that there was commercial land usage on the southerly side of Sturdivant. Density of 16 living units spaced across four lots was the subject entered into by all concerned. Board member Hal Mullins made a motion that recommended approval of PUD zoning and the 16 units for the four lots. No second was attained; therefore, the request for PUD zoning died for lack of a second. Mr. Ash then requested to know the main objection of the Advisory Planning Board. "Density" was offered as the main objection. The Acting Board Chairman, Dick Rigsbee, adjourned the meeting at 8:15 PM, referring the action of the Planning Board to the next meeting of the City Commission. Chairman
