PRESENT: Robert Wardrep - Chairman
Jan Tierney
Harold Mullins
Mary W. Pace
AND: William Fogg - City Commissioner
R. C. Vogel - City Manager
Plans for an off site drive-in banking facility for The Ocean State Bank
were presented by James Burton and James Browne, to be located on the
south side of Plaza, west of Jack Russell Park. The facility will offer
only drive-in services. Mr. Burton established three (3) criteria:
(1) To keep the non-commercial appearance of the area. (2) To get the
project placed under Planned Unit Development. (3) To secure approval
from the State Banking Committee. This will be a five (5) day a week
operation with no business conducted except via drive-in windows to service
cars, bicycles and walkers.
Mr. Mullins moved that the Atlantic Beach Advisory Planning Board recommend
that the City Commission approve that the plans for the Ocean State Bank
be placed under P.U.D. It was seconded by Mrs. Jan Tierney and so passed.
A motion was made by Mr. Wardrep that: Sidewalks shall be constructed
on the south side of Plaza to run from Mayport Road on the west to Seminole
Road on the east. It was seconded by Mrs. Tierney and so passed.
Attention was called to the fact that one incumbent term on the Board
is due for appointment for a term beginning January, 1975. Mrs. Pace also
announced that due to an out of city move, her remaining two (2) year
term position must have an appointment made.
Respectfully submitted,
Mary W. Pace
