04-25-72 v Minutes of the Regular Meeting ADVISORY PLANNING BOARD of The City of Atlantic Beach, Florida April 25, 1972 8:00 p.m. PRESENT: Mr. Bob Wardrep, presiding Mrs. Jan Tierney Mrs. Mary Pace, Members AND Mr. Bill Fogg, Commission Coordinator Mr. R. C . Vogel, City Manager ABSENT: Mr. Glover Weiss Mayor Howell, a guest attending the meeting, asked the members to begin serious consideration of some of the problems facing Atlantic Beach with the present building boom. He feels that if immediate stens were taken, many of the future problems would be alleviated. Many times developers com e to Atlantic Beach, build their projects, sell, and them move on, leaving their problems behind. We desperately need, at present, some stop-gap measures . Mayor Howell feels that these measures would not be meant to stop builders of homes for personal use. One part to the possibile solution would be to stop duplicaticn of plans on projects. Another would be to place all unplatted acreage in the corporate limits of Atlantic Beach under a Planned Unit Development (P.UOD.) zone. After lengthy discussion about P.U.D. and possible solutions to problems facing the city, the Board decided to work up some ideas to be submitted before the next meeting to the Commission for their consideration. A special meeting is called for Thursday, April 27, 1972, at 8:00 p.m. Meeting was adjourned.
