AGENDA: Parks & Recreation Building Use Fee Adjustment

BACKGROUND: To make better use of the recreation centers, staff
recommends the following adjustments to the fees. These
adjustments will make the facilities more usable will help
to see that park rules are followed and insure that the
buildings are clean when citizens come in to use them.
^ Adjust the fees from $50 with a $100 deposit to
$100 with a $200 deposit for a period of four
hours at Adele Grage ($100 with a $100 deposit
at Donner Park and Jordan Park for a period of
four hours).
^ There will be a $50 staff fee for alcohol use (staff
will open and close the facility).
^ Additional use time would be $25 an hour.
(Under the current rules, people often book
buildings all day for afour-hour event keeping
others from using them).
^ Limit events in buildings to end by 10:00 PM
rather than 11:00 PM
BUDGET: It is anticipated that the additional revenues brought in by
these new rates will offset additional overtime costs for
Park Department employees to open and close buildings.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the adjustments to the Parks & Recreation
