SUBJECT: City Mana er's Report
Alcohol Dealoyment; The AB' Police Department worked with the State DBAT to conduct a
sting operation for businesses for selling alcohol to minors. Fifteen of the city's 23 locations that
aze licensed to sell alcohol were checked on Thursday, August 30`". Five people at those
businesses were chazged with selling alcohol to minors. They were employed at the Plantains
Restaurant (Sea Turtle), Ocean 60 Restaurant, Ragtime, BP Gas Station at 715 Atlantic
Boulevazd and a convenience store at 1197 Mayport Road. Each of the locations where illegal
sales were made will be checked again within the coming months and the State DBAT may take
enforcement action against their alcohol licenses if they are found to be "repeat violators".
On a related note, a cab driver offered to buy beer for the informant used in this sting operation
after the informant had. been denied a beer sale at one location. After checking it was found that
he had a felony warrant outstanding from another state and was arrested.
