MINUTES OF THE RETIRING COMMISSION OF ATLANTIC BEACH, HELD IN
CITY HALL, 800 SEMINOLE ROAD AT 8:00 P.M. ON NOVEMBER 6, 2001
Present: Richard M. Beaver, Mayor Pro Tern
Louis M. (Mike) Borno
Theo K. Mitchelson and
J. Dezmond Waters, III, City Commissioners
And: Jim Hanson, City Manager
Alan C. Jensen, City Attorney
Maureen King, City Clerk
Absent: John S. Meserve, Mayor
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Pro Tern Beaver at 8:00 P.M. The invocation,
offered by Commissioner Mitchelson, was followed by the pledge of allegiance to the flag.
1. Approval of the Minutes of the Regular Commission Meeting held October 22, 2001.
Commissioner Waters moved for approval of the minutes of the Regular Commission
• Meeting of October 22, 2001. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Borno and
unanimously carried.
2. Recognition of Visitors
There was no recognition of visitors at this time.
3. Any Other Business
No other business was brought before the City Commission at this time.
4. Reports and/or Comments from City Commissioners, City Manager, City Attorney
and City Clerk
The City Commissioners, City Manager, City Attorney and City Clerk all commended
Commissioner Mitchelson for the job he did as a City Commissioner and wished him well in his
future endeavors.
There being no further discussion or business to come before the City Commission, the Mayor
Pro Tern declared the meeting adjourned at 8:10 p.m.

ATLANTIC BEACH
Present: Richard M. Beaver, Mayor Pro Tern
Louis M. (Mike) Borno
Paul B. Parsons and
J. Dezmond Waters, III City Commissioners
And: Jim Hanson, City Manager
Alan C. Jensen, City Attorney
Maureen King, City Clerk
Absent: John S. Meserve, Mayor
OATH OF OFFICE FOR SEATS 4 AND 5.
The Oath of Office was administered by City Clerk King to Paul Parsons (Commission Seat 4),
and Richard M. Beaver (Commission Seat 5). The signed Oaths of Office are attached and made
part of this official record.
CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting of the new Commission was called to order by Mayor Pro Tern Beaver.
1. Recognition of the Retiring Commission
(In addition to the comments referred to above, the City Commission presented Resolution No.
01-22 to Commissioner Mitchelson in recognition of his service to the city and citizens of Atlantic
Beach, at their meeting of October 22, 2001.)
2. Any Other Business
Commissioner Borno reported that the Selva Marina streets project was on schedule and bids
would go out very soon.
3. Comments from the Mayor and Commissioners
11 The City Commissioners welcomed Commissioner Parsons who reported he had already started
his work as a City Commissioner. He reported he had met individually with the City Manager and

Department Heads and had been provided with a lot of information. He commended his
opponent, Theo Mitchelson, for an excellent race and thanked his family, campaign workers, and
supporters.
There being no further business to come before the Commission, the Mayor Pro Tem declared the
meeting adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
