• COMMISSION HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON THURSDAY, JUNE 18TH, 1959

The meeting was called to order by the Mayor-Commissioner,
Mr. Howell.
A request has been received to transfer the liquor license at
the Chateau from T.O. Mize T/A The Chateau to Preben Johansen
T/A Johansen' s Chateau Restaurant. Mr. waggoner advised that
he has checked on this application with the State Beverage Dept.
and they advise that Mr. ' Johansen has been checked out as OK.
Upon motion of Mr. Moore, seconded by Mr. Howell and carried
approval was given for the transfer of the license as requested.
Bids were opened for a new Police Car and tabulated as follows:
Thor Chevrolet 01335 .00
Lynch Davidson Motors, Inc. l;257:27
Brooks Plymouth, Inc. 1,190.00
It was noted that the Thor Chevrolet bid included powerglide
which not to be included, therefore could -not be cpnsidered.
The other bids were discussed and studied. T.H. Adams of
Brooks Plymouth, low bidder, was present and advised that if
we could use the old police car for approximately 2 weeks until
delivery could be made from the Factory, that they would furnish
the special police car package which is basically the same as '
the car bid on except with heavy duty equipment for police use,
at the same price as bid. The matter was further discussed, the
possibility of rentals for police work, and the use which the
police cars receive. Upon motion of Mr. Johansen, seconded by
Dr. Whitehurst approval was given to accepting th0 bid of the
Brooks Motor Co. with the verbal addition to the bid as given by
Mr. Adams.
Upon motion of Mr. Johansen, seconded by Dr. Whitehurst and carried
approval was given to the adoption of Resolution a- " 59-11 transfer-
ring funds from Unallocated Fund to Equipment Acct. `1003 n195

Mr. Waggoner advised that the builders of the apartments at 10th
St. and Beach Ave. would like to put ".some Cabanas out front and he
would like the Commissioners opinion. It was agreed that they
could have cabanas so long as they don' t come in front of the
Building line.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CIYT
OF ATLANTIC BEACH, DUVAL COUNTY, FLORIDA, THAT
Eleven hundred, ninety ($1190.00) Dollars from the
Unallocated Fund be and the same is hereby transfered
to Account No. 1003, Public Safety Equipment, for
new police car, in 1959 Budget.
Passed by the City Commission on June 18, 1959.
