MINUTES OF THE AD OURNED MEETING OF THE ATL??TIC BEACH CITY
COMMISSION EEL') AT THE CITY HALL ON THURSDAY, JUNE 26T1-4 1958
at 6030 P.M,

The meeting was called to order by the Mayor-Commissioner.,
Mr, dwell,
Mr. Howell read a letter from Walter J. Parks,, Engineer in
which he made recommendations concerning the Sewage Pumping
and Treatment Facilities and the alternates as bid on and
also his comments on the three +apparent low bidders. The
apparent low bidders are
Wm, S. Smith Construction Co, a Sewage Treatment Plant
Henry Go Dupree Co, - Sewage Lift Stations
Joe Reinertson of Jacksonville, Inc, - Force Mains
Mr. Waggoner advised that he and Mr. Parks had studied the
bids after tabulation, and he recommends that the recommendations
of the Engineer as set forth in his letter of June 25th, 1958
be approved, There was a discussion and upon motion of Mr.
Marvin, seconded by Mr. Johansen acid carried the recommendations
of Mr. Parks as given in his letter of June 25th, 1958 as to
the bids and alternates was accepted.
Mr0 Johansen presented in writing an Ordinance authorizing and
providing for the construction of that part of the sewer system
as described and contemplated by Walter Jo Parksa Consulting
Engineer and designated as Engineer°s Project #18-58 and author-
izing the execution of Contracts for doing said work, Said
Ordinance having been read in full Mr. Johansen moved its adoption
on first reading, and motion was seconded by Mr. Marvin. There
was a discussion during which Mr. Roberts asked about inspections,
Mr Parks advised that he believes it would behoove the City to
retain the services of a resident inspector who would be constant-
ly on the job, and that if anything came up where hs, Mr. Parka
was needed he would come out and clarify. Theta was considerable
discussion as to the type man needed for the job. Following the
discussion the Mayor put the question thereon and the vote was
Ayes Johansen, Marvin, Moore, Roberts, Howell
Nay: None
Whereupon the Mayor declared said notion carried and said Ordi-
nance

Mr. Johansen presented the following Resolution #58-18
which was read in full, and moved its adoption:

BE IT RESOLVED BY THL CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC
BEACH, FLORIDA, That
In line with the requirements as set forth in the plans and
specifications covering the Engineer's Project #18-5$ the
services of H.A. Durden, Surveyor be secured to establish the
lines, etc. on the lots for the lift stations and plant sites*
Said motion to adopt said Resolution # 58-18 was seconded by
Mr. Moore, and having been duly considered the Mayor put the
question thereon and the vote was
Aye: Marvin, Moore, Roberts, Johansen, Howell
Nays None
Whereupon the Mayor declared said motion carried and said
Resolution #58-18 adopted.
Upon motion of Mr. Nohansen the meeting adjourned to meet on
Tuesday, July 1st, 1958 at 8 P.M.
