03-27-56 v MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE ATLANTIC BEACH TOWN COUNCIL
HELD AT THE TOWN HALL ON TUESDAY, MARCH 27TH, 1956 AT 8 P.M.

Adele S. Grage, Town Clerk
The Town Clerk administered the oath of office of Councilman
to Mr. Robt. Wardrep, who took his place at the Council table.
Whereupon the President, Mr. Minchew called the meeting to
order.
The Sewerage Committee report was presented to the Council and
discussed. The report was signed by the three citizen members
of the committee : Harcourt Bull, Douglas Scott and H.L. Tyson,
and one Council member, Norman Minchew. Mr. Carr moved that the
report be received for study and that the Committee be thankdd for
the work they have done. The motion was seconded by Ar. Wardrep
and carried.
Upon motion of Mr. Carr, seconded by Mr. Wardrep it was decided
to invite Mr. Walter J. Parks, Consulting Engineer to meet with
the Council on next Tuesday, April .rd , 1956 at 8 P.M. to discuss
the sewerage program.
Mr. Waggoner advised that he had gotten -prices from two firms
to electrically connect up the siren. Tey were :
Horton Electric Co $326.35
Glenn Smith 450.00
There was a discussion and upon motion of MrCarr, seconded by
Mr. Wardrep the quotation of Horton Electric Co. of 5326.35 was
accepted.
Upon mItion of Mr. Carr, seconded by Mr. Wardrep a bill from
Clyde Hathcox Bulldozing Co. in amount of $200.00 to cover work
done at the incinerator site was approved for payment.
Mr. Waggoner advised that he would like to attend the Short Course
on Building being held at the Univertisy of Florida at Gainesville ,
and would like to drive back and forth each day using the Town Ford,
and the Town pay for his lunch each day. It was agreed that this
Short Course would be beneficial to Mr. Waggoner and the Town, and
upon motion of Mr. Carr , seconded by Mr. Wardrep approval was given
for Mr. Waggoner to attend the Short Course with his expenses paid
as requested.
Time out was taken long enough for the Town officials present to
go outside on the concrete slab at back of Town Hall building and
burn the $23,000. worth of Utility Revenue Bonds as covered by
Resolution #56-5.
Business was resumed and Mr. Waggoner advised that a kitchen unit
was needed for the new fire station for use in the living quarters .
After studying the available literature , Mr. Wardrep moved, with
second by Mr. Carr, that we purchase a Chef Model All electric
kitchen unit cOfV4(isting of a stove ,sink and refrigerator. Motion
carried.
The final payment on the fire station was discussed. Mr. Carr
moved that the building be accepted for final payment subject to
411 Mr. Waggoner ' s OK and the furnishing by the builder of a certifi-
cate that there are no outstanding bills . This was seconded by
Mr. Wardrep and carried.

Mr. Carr moved that norlther payment be made to Smith and
Gillespie, Engineers/ and meter situation is straightened
out to the satisfaction of the Town and that Mr. Waoner write
and so advise them. This was seconded by Mr. Wardrep and carried.
The electric valve has not yet been received, but the contractor
says will be shipped soon.
Mr. Harcourt Bull adbises that the sewerage situation for - Selva
Marina Unit #2 looks good as believe some of the old sewerage
facilities can be salvaged and used.
Mr. Wm. Howell presented two checks to the r'ouncil from Mrs.
Hazel Wootton one for $479.30 to cover the Seawall Emergency
assessment and one for $152.36 to cover interest on the - assessment
to June, 1953 which she asks the Council to accept as payment
of the eawall Emergency indebtedness. There was a discussion
and upon motion of Mr. Carr, seconded by Ar. Wardrep approval
was given to accept these two checks as presented as payment
for this indebtedness.
Upon motion of Mr. Wardrep the meeting adjourned from day to day
at 9 :15 P.M.
