05-01-56 v MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE ATLANTIC BEACH TOWN COUNCIL
HELD AT THE TOWN HALL ON TUESDAY, MAY 1ST, 1956 AT 8 P.M.
Present:
Norman Minchew,
L.J. "Jack" Feather
R.L. Wardrep, Councilmen
and
J.A. Reid, Mayor
Frank Thompson, Town Attorney
J.F. Waggoner, Jr. , Town Manager
Adele S. Grage, Town Clerk
The meeting was called to order by the President, Mr. Minchew.
The Council conferred with Mr. Walter J. Parks , Jr. Engineer and
Mr. Harcourt Bull on the proposed sewerage system for Selva Marina
Units 1 & 2. Mr. Parks had a detailed map showing proposed lines
and parts of old installations that are still useable. He advised
that 10" pipe is to be used and pointed out the lines that can be
extended and plans for connecting on to the Town's system if and
when built. They plan to use the old Imhoff tank that is available
on the old system with filter beds for secondary treatment before
emptying into the Mostgmito Control ditch. If and when the Town builds
the Imhoff tank and the lift station will be eliminated and their
system joined up with the Town's system. They propose to turn their
system over to the Town when completed for the Town to operate and
collect sewerage charge. They will lease the land on which the Imhoff
tank and ejector lift station are located to the Town for a nominal
fee p say W.O. a year - until the T,twn's system is built. The Bulls
have 68 lots to go on the system and hope for 30 additional lots to
go on this plan. Zarcourt Bull advised that they would get to-gether
with Mr. Thompson to work up proper ins$ruments to turn the system over
to the Town. The ejector valves air compressor, etc. in the lift
station can be salvaged by the time-iand used elsewhere if needed.
They would like for the Town to accept as a closed system, except
on written permission of the grantors. They would like to get a letter
as soon as possible that the Town will accept the system and collect a
fee for cost of operation, but they do not expect the Council to take
action to-night.
Mr. George Bull presented the plans fee Selva Marina Unit #2 and advised
that they expect to have the completed plat ready at an early date .
Upon motion of Mr. Feather, seconded by Mr. Wardrep the Council
accepted and approved the paving and drainage plans as outlined
for Selva Marina Unit #2.
Upon motion of Mr. Feather the meeting adjourned from day to day at
10:15 P.M.
