07-24-56 v MINLTES OF THE ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE, ATLANTIC BEACH TOWN COUNCIL HELD AT THE TOWN HALL ON TUESDAY, JULY 24TH, 1956 AT 8 P.M. Present : Norman Minchew Marvin Carr L.J. Feather, Councilmen and J.A. Reid, Mayor Frank Thompson, Town Attorney J.F. Waggoner, Jr. , Town Manager Adele S. Grage , Town Clerk The meeting was called to order by the President, Mr. hinchew. Mr. Feather introduced the following Resolution #56-10 covering absentee balloting, which Resolution was read in full, and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO.. ' -gyp BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Atlantic Beach, Florida: There is hereby adopted as means of providing for absentee voting in all authorized elections in said Town the provisions of Chapter 101, Florida Statutes relating to absentee voting and all of said provisions are by reference incorporated herein to the same extent if set out in full herein, the words "Town Clerk" being hereby inserted wherever the word "Supervisor" appears in said provisions of said Chapter. Said motion to adopt said Resolution No. 56-10 was seconded by Mr. Carr. Said motion having been duly considered, the President put the question thereon and the call vote was : Carr, Feather , Minchew "Aye" ; Absent : Adams and Wardrep; Nay, None . Whereupon the President declared said motion carried and said Resolution #56-10 adopted. The matter of trading the Wordor police car (Interceptor) was next discussed. The followdng quotations have been received: bob pratti, Chevrolet, Inc. $880. 50 Lynch Davidson Motors, Inc. 915.00 The prices were studied and upon motion of '.r. feather, seconded by Mr. Carr approval was given to purchase the Chevrolet 4 door V-8 Belair at $880.50 from bob pratti Chevrolet, Inc. and that a kit to connect to 6 volts be purchased. The 6 months audit thru June 30th, 1956 was presented by the 11/ auditors , Tyson & Meek. The Council received the audit and will study same with a view of making some reduction in the excess rates or increasing the water allowances per quarter. Mr. Bowden' s office recommended that we have 4 election officials instead of 3, so upon motion of Mr. Feather, seconded by hr. Carr Mrs. Charlotte Gorman was appointed as an inspector for the election on August 14th, 1956 . The Town Clerk advised that she had spent a half day in Mr. Bowden's office gc .g over absentee balloting with them. They also were very co-operative and gave us copies of forms and envelops used by them in absentee balloting. We will have the forms and ballots ready by Monday, July 30th. IR Mr. Waggoner is to get prices on a pick-up truck. Upon motion of Mr. Feather the meeting adjourned from day to day at 9 P.M.
