09-27-55 v MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE ATLANTIC BEACH TOWN COUNCIL
HELD AT THE TOEN HAL, ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 1955 AT 8 P.M.

The meeting was called to order by the President Ar. Ainchew and
went into session for Public Hearing on Zoning Ordinance # 50
to amend same to allow attached garages ( but no part of the main
building) to extend into the rear yard area. Proof of Publication
of the Notice of this hearing is attached hereto and made a part
of these minutes. Noone appeared in connection with this hearing,
therefore Mr. Adams introduced and caused to be read in full Ordinance
# 178 being an Ordinance entitled " An Ordinance Amending Ordinance
No. 50, entitled ' An Ordinance Providing for the Zoning of the Town
of Atlantic Beach, Duval County, Florida etc. '" and moved that
all rules be suspended and that said Ordinance be passed on third and
final rea ding, which motion was seconded by Mr. Carr. Said motion
having been duly considered, the President put the question thereon
and the vote was as follows :
Aye : Adams, Carr, Feather, Minchew
Absent : Thames
Whereupon the President declared said motion carried and said Ordinance
No. 178 approved.
The following bills were approved for payment upon motW.on of Mr. Feather
seconded by Mr. Carr. The Fire Fighters Equipment Co. bill is not to
be paid until credit is issued on the siren which was returned .

The following from the Waterworks Construction Fund :

An Ordinance Amending License Ordinance # 174 by adding the
classification "private schools- including dancing, nursery,
and kindergardens" was presented by Mr. Carr who movild its passage by Title
on first reading. It was seconded by Mr. Adams and passed .
Upon motion of Mr. Adam , seconded by Mr. Carr it was passed on
IIIsecond reading. The fee to be c10.00.
Mr. Thompson turned over to the Town Clerk the recorded papers on the
plant site (Waterworks) and 11th St.
There was a discussion of using Hmghes Rust-pruf paint on the new
water tank. The Town Manager was directed to contact the Engineers
and get a definite price on changing contract to one coat of Hughes
rust-pruf and one coat of alluminum paint, and also the cost if
a second coat of alluminum paint is needed. It was agreed that
Hughes rust-pruf paint would be the best for this job.
Mr. Waggoner advised that Permit #261+3 had been issued to Lot 19
ABT prior to his coming with the Town and that part of the permit
covering building of a carport was in violation of the Zoning
Ordinance #50 and he would like the Council 's direction on same .
He was advised to write the owner that the carport is in violation
and that this portion of the permit is revoked.
Upon motion of Mr. Feather ]hhe meeting adjourned from day to day
at 9 P.M.
