HELD AT THE TOWN HALL ON WEDNESDAY, JUNE 18th, 1952 AT 7:30 P.M.

The meeting was called to order by the President, Th... Adams.
The matter of License fees was discussed, and it was decided
to leave as it is except to add 2 classifications. 'ipon motion
of Mr. Bremer, seconded by Mr. Mason the following Resolution
was adopted:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF ATLANTIC
BEACH, DUVAL COUNTY, FLORIDA, That
The following classifications be added to the Ordinance No. 115
entitled " An Ordinance Providing for the payment of License Fees, etc."
Hamburger and Hot Dog Stands $10.00
Ice, Delivery for outside 10.00
There was a discussion of street paving, and upon motion of Mr.
Thames, seconded by Mr. Mason it was decided to pave the following
streets, Plaza from Ocean Blvd. to Sherry Dr. , 2nd St. fron Beach Ave.
to Ocean Blvd., 11th St. from Ocean Blvd. to East Coast Dr., 1st St.
from Beach Ave. to East Coast Drive, and the Town Manager was directed
to get up necessary papers to cover.
Upon motion of Mr. Mason, seconded by Mr. Kirby the Finance Committee
was authorized to check on truck for the new man, and make the best buy.
Upon mo6ion of Mr. Thames, seconded by Mr. Bremer the following Resolution
was adopted covering the cleaning of certain lots:
WHEREAS, the co-mingled and concerted growth of weeds, grasses and under-
bruph upon the following lots, in the Town of Atlantic Beach, to wit:
Lot 1, Sherry Terrace Lot 34, Block 11
Lot 5, Block 3
amounts to and constitutes a nuisance endangering the general health,
safety and welfare of the community at large,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND TO'll COUNCIL OF THE TOWN
OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, That it hereby be declared the condition of
said lots a nuisance endangering the health, safety and welfare of the
community at large and directs the Town Clerk to forthwith notify the
owner of the premises upon which said nuisance exists to abate such
nuisance within 30 days from date pf notice.
The Mayor presented a request from the Jacksonville Dog FanciersnAsso-
ciation that we take an ad in the program covering the dog show to be
held at Fletcher High under auspices of the Band Parent's Association.
Upon motion of Mr. Thames, seconded by Mr. Mason approval was given for
a $15. ad to be taken from the Mayor's Fund with his approval. The Mayor
• instructed the Town Clerk take such an ad.
There was a discussion of fogging, and upon motion of Nr. Thames, seconded
by Mr. Mason the Town Manager is to set the fogging program in motion imme-
diately in line with plan used in former years , making sure the conditions
are right at time of fogging.
The Ordinance covering closing hours for liquor Olaces was next discussed,
and the Town Attorney read the Ordinance # 149 which provides for closing
hour at 2 A.M. , and omits the holiday closing which can be determined by
Resolution at the discretion of the Council. Upoj motion of Mr. Kirby,
seconded by Mt. Thames this Ordinance was passed on 3rd and final reading
with call vote as follows: Kirby, aye; Mason, nay; Bremer, aye; Thames-, aye;
Adams, aye.
Upon motion of Mr. Kirby th4 meeting adjourned from day to day. • -

The meeting was called to order by the President, Mr. Adams.
Upon motion of Mr. Mason, seconded by Mr. Thames, Mr. Richard Hamilton
was approved as Tax Assessor for year 1952.
Upon motion of Mr. Kirby, seconded by Mr. Thames the following were
approved for officials for the Election on August 12th, at fee of $15. :

Mrs. Robt. Lowder, nspector
Mrs. Harcourt Bull,Ifiipector
In case we needed alternates, Mrs. Glover Weiss, Mrs. C.J. King, Jr.
and Mrs. Bill Terry were named.
The Town Clerk reported that Seawall Bonds # 147, 148, 149 and 150
with coupons # 38, 39 and 40 attached to each had been redeamed and
cancelled. Upon motion of Mr. Thames, seconded by Mr. Bremer approval
was given for these bonds to be destroyed by fire.
Upon motion of Mr. Bremer, seconded by Mr. Kirby the following Resolution
was adopted:
NOW, $HEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN
OF ATLANTIC BEACH, DUVAL COUNTY, FLORIDA, That
On July 4th, 1952, September 1st, 1952 and New Year's Eve 1952-53 ,
alcoholic beverages may be sold, served and dispensed until 4 A.M.
Upon motion of Mr. Thames the meeting adjourned from day to day.
