HELD AT THE TOWN HALL ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 24TH, 1951 AT 8 P.M.

The meeting was called to order pursuant of the following notice
dated September 18th, 1951:

You, and each of you are hereby informed that there will be a
Special Meeting of the Town Council at 8 P.M. September 24th,
1951 at the Town Hall to consinder the following matters:
1- Budget for the year 1951-52
2- Preliminary Tax Assessment Roll for the Year 1951.
Please take due notice thereof and govern yourselves accordingly.

In the absence of the President, Mr. Bremer presided.
The budget was taken under consideration and various items
discussed.
411 A letter was read from the Gordon Blitch & Co., auditors, advising
that they would like to continue as auditors for the Town, however they
could not accept at the $250. fee, but feel that they could perform
the audit for $400., an amount which they consider their actual cost.
There was a discussion, and upon motioj of Mr. Mason, seconded by Mr.
Thames approval was given to set-up $400. in the budget for the audi-
tor's fee.
The matter of mosquito control was discussed, and upon motion of Mr.
Mason, seconded by Mr. Thames ;t was decided that a member of this
Council be appointed to serve with others from the Councils of the
other two beaches to estimate the cost and organization necessary for
the operation of a joint effort for mosquito control at the Beaches.
There was further study to the Budget by items, but final action was
postponed until later in the week, when further figures are available.
Mr. Richard Hamilton,' Tax:4szessor, has completed the Preliminary Tax
Assessment Roll for the year 1951, and same was presented to Council.
Upon motion of Mr. Thames, seconded by Mr. Mason the following Resolution
was adopted, approving the Tax Assessment Roll (Preliminary) for the year
1951 and setting the date for the meeting of the Council as an Equaliza-
tion Board for Monday, October 8th, 1951 at 8 P.M. in the Town Hall:
RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PRELIMINARY TAX ASSESSMENT ROLL FOR
THE YEAR 1951.

WHEREAS, The Town Tax Assessor has completed the Preliminary
Tax Assessment Roll of the Town of Atlantic Beach, Florida, for
the year 1951, and has submitted the same to the Town Council,
and
WHEREAS, It appears that all property, real and personal, in
the Town of Atlantic Beach, subject to taxation has been
assessed on said Tax Assessment Roll, and the Tax Assessment
Roll is in due form.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, That the said Preliminary Tax Assessment
Roll, be, and the same is, hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That the Town Clerk shall post at the Town
Hall and at two other public places in the Town and shall also
cause to be published daily for four consecutive days in a news-
paper published in the City of Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida,
notice that said Tax Assessment Roll has been submitted to the
Town Council and approved, and also requiring all persons desir-
ing to have corrections thereof made, whether in listing, valuation
of property or otherwise, to file with the Town Tax Assessor on or
before the 8th day of October, 1951, at $ P.M. their petition to
the Town Council setting forth their objection to said Assessment
Roll and the correction they desire made, and that also on the
8th day of October 1951 at $ P.M. the Town Council shall meet at
the Town Hall for the purpose of equalizing said assessments and
making proper correction therein.
Upon motion of Mr. Mason, seconded by Mr. Thames, the Town Clerk was directed
to post the following notice setting the date for the Town Council to meet
as a Board of Equalization , the date having been set as Monday, October 8th,
1951 at 8 P.M.:

NOTICE OF COMPLETION OF PRELIMINARY TAX
ASSESSMENT ROLL OF THE TOWN OF ATLANTIC BEACH,
FLORIDA, FOR THE YEAR 1951;
"TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: You are hereby notified
that the Preliminary Tax Assessment Roll for the
Town of Atlantic Beach, Florida, for the year 1951,
has been completed and submitted to and approved by
the Town Council. All persons desiring to have
corrections made thereof, whether in listing, valua-
tion of property or otherwise, are required on or
before the 8th day of October, A.D., 1951 at $ P.M.,
to file with the Town Tax Assessor of the Town of
Atlantic Beach, their objections and corrections they
desire made.
The Town Council will meet at the Town Hall in the
Town of Atlantic Beach, Florida, on the 8th day of
October? A.D. , 1951 at $ P.M. for the purpose of
equalizing said assessments and making proper
correction therein, All persons who shall file
petitions as aforesaid will be given the opportunity
to he heard at said meeting."

An Ordinance covering the Tax assessment Roll for 1951 was passed on
first reading by title only upoh motion of Mr. Thames, seconded by
Mr. Mason. Upon motion of Mr. Mason, seconded by Mr. Thames it was
passed on 2nd reading.
Upon motion of Mr. Thames the meeting adjourned from day to day.
