The meeting was called to order by the President,
James A . Cranford after having been post"oned from day to
day.
Upon motion of Beale Travis, seconded by Don Goodling
the minutes of bile regular meeting of September 11th, 1945 ,
and the adjourned meeting; of September 15th , 1945 were approved
as read.
Upon motion of E.L. Chiasson, seconded by Beale Travis ,
ail/ the budget for the fiscal year 1945-46 was approved and adopted
as follows:

The Preliminary Tax Roll for the year 1945 was
submitted to the Council . Upon motion of E.L. Chiasson,
seconded by Don Goodling, the following resolution was adopted:
Assessment
RESOLUTION : Approving the Preliminary Tax/Roll for the Year
1945:
WHEREAS, the Town Tax Assessor has completed the Preliminary
Tax Assessment Roll of the Town of Atlantic Beach, Florida for
theyear 1945, and has submitted the same to the Town Council, 41
and
WHEREAS, it appears that all property, real and personal, in the
Town of Atlantic Beach, subject to taxation has been assessed on
said Tax Assessment Roll, and the Tax Assessment Roll is in due
form,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL of the Town of Atlan-
ticBeach, Florida, that the said Preliminary Tax Assessment Roll
be, and the same is, hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That the Town Clerk shall post at the Town
Hall and at two other public places in the Town and shall also cause
to be published daily for four consecutive days in a newspaper
published in the City of Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida,
notice that said Assessment Roll has been submitted to the Town
Council and approved and also requiring all persons desiring to
have corrections thereof made, whether in the listing, valuation
of property or otherwise, to file with the Town Tax Assessor on
or before the 9th day of October, 1945 at 8 P.M., their petition
to the Town Council settting forth their objection to said assess-
ment roll and the correction they desire made, and also that on
the 9th day of October, 1945 at 8 P.M. the Town Council will meet •
at the Town Hall for the purpose of equalizing said assessments
and making proper correction there iii.
Upon motion of E.L. Chiasson, seconded by Don Goodling,
the Town Clerk was instructed to post and have published the follow-
ing notice :
NOTICE OF COMPLETION OF PRELIMINARY TAX ASSESSMENT ROLL OF THE
TOWN OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, FOR THE YEAR 1945 :
" TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: You are hereby nptified that the Prelimi-
nary Tax Assessment Roll for the Town of Atlantic Beach, Florida,
for the year 1945, has been completed and submitted to and approved
by the Town Council. All persons desiring to have corrections
made tnereof, whether in listing, valuation of property or otherwise,
are required on or before the 9th day of October A.D. 1945 at 8 P.M.
to file with the Town Tax Assessor of the Town of Atlantic Beata
their objections to the said assessments and correction they desire
made.
The Town Council will meet at the Town Hall in the Town of Atlantic`
Beach, Florida on the 9th day of October, 1945 at 8 P.M. for the
purpose of equalizing said assessments and making proper correction
therein. All persons who shall file petitions as aforesaid will be
given the opportunity to be heard at said meeting.

After discussion, upon motion of E.L. Chiasson, seconded
by Don Moodling the milleage for the 1945 taxes was set at 15 mills
for general purposes, and 1 mills for the Town's share of Seawall
Construction.
Upon motion of E.L. Chiasson, seconded by Beale Travis,
an Ordinance " To Approve and Adopt the Tax Assessment Roll for
the year 1945, and to determine and fix the rate of taxation and
make the Annual Tax Levy of the year 1945" was passed on first
reading. Upon motion of Don Goodling, seconded by E.L. Chiasson
This ordinance was passed on second reading.
Upon motion of E.L. Chiasson seconded by Beale Travis
the Town Supervisor was instructed to have the annual audit made
at best price up to 1200.

Don Goodling the meeting was adjourned.
