The meeting was called to order by J. C . Cutler, President.
The reading of the minutes of the meeting of March 1st,
1938 and the Srecial meeting of March 11th, 1938, was postphoned
to the next regular meeting.
On motion of Brooke G. White, Jr. , seconded by ivr. Ros-
borough, put and carried, the Town Attorney was authorized and
directed to file the necessary suits looking to the validation
of the Bonds authorized by an election held by the Town, on March 11,
1938.
The City Supervisor was authorized and directed to sub-
mit to the Board of Uounty Commissioners at their next meeting the
following resolution, which upon motion of Mr. White , seconded by
ivir. Rosborough, was adopted: -
- R E S O L U T I O N -
WHEREAS, The need for a County Road through Atlantic beach
to take care of traffic between that section of Duval County lying
North of the Town and the Southern part of said County, has long
been recognized, and ,
WHEREAS, The Town of Atlantic beach has made every possible
effort to comply with Duval County Engineer' s specification in all
other directions, to no avail, and
WHEREAS The Town Council of the said Town has now arranged
with the Atlantic Beach Holding Company, Harcourt gull and others,
and the Neptune Land Company for the deeding of the following oro-
posed route for such a road;
"That cettain lot or parcel of land, being a strip of
lend one hundred (100) Feet in width, through the sub-
division of Atlantic Beach, as recorde.J in Plat Book 5,
page 69, and through Government Lots, 3, 2 and 1 , Section
16 , Township 2, South, Range 29 East, lying fifty (50)
Feet, measured at right angles on both sides of a center
line described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the North line of the
Plaza, an 80 foot street, as shown on said map of At-
lantic beach, said point being distant 50 feet Westerly
from the Southwest corner of Lot 46 , block 11, on said
map of Atlantic Beach; thence North 6'17 ' West and par-
allel with the 'W'esterly line of Lots 46 and 45 , block
11 , and Lots 46 and 45, block 12, and Lots 48 and 47 ,
Block 13 , and Lot 48, block 14, of Atlantic beach, a
distance of 1090 ' eet to the Northwest Corner of Lot
50, .lock 14, of Atlantic each, said last mentioned
corner being a point of curve of a curve to the right

with a radius of Feet; thence around said curve to
the right, a distance of Feet to a point of tangent
of said curve to the right; thence North ° ' East
Feet to a point of curve of a curve to the left
with a radius of Feet to a point of tangent of
said curve to the left, said point of tangent being

a point in the center line of the former right-of-way of the
Florida East Coast Railway Company 30 Feet Northerly from the
intersection of said center line of said right-of-way with the
dividing line between Sections 16 and 9, Township 2, South,
Range 29 East.
NON, THE:'.` FC RE, B? IT RESOLVE' BY THE Mayor and Town
Council of Atlantic beach, Florida, that the above generally
described route for a proposed County Road be, and the same is
hereby tendered to the Honorable board of County Commissioners
of Duval County, Florida, subject to the following conditions,
to-wit:
(a) That after the proper preliminary surbeys the
parties now holding title to the lands affected will deed without
reservation, for public use , a strip of land extending along the
generally described route, above named, or a sufficient amount of
such land to which they hold title to so widen the now existing
dedicated public thoroughfares to provide an overall width of
one hundred (100) feet;
(b) To change the point of contact between the new Route
and the already existing right-of-way for Old Sherry Drive, ex-
tending northward, to provide a proper connection therewith;
( c ) Such lends as will not be needed from the intersection
of the Old Sherry Drive and the Plaza to the point where the above
described route leaves the present designated right-of-way for Old
Sherry Drive, and that portion not to be needed after the new routes
have been designated by survey, be deeded back to the original
donors; and
bE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That the said Town Council do , and
it hereby does, petition the Board of County Commissioners to take
the necessary steps to provide proper surveys so that prospective
donors may promptly execute the necessary deeds, and
bE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That copies of this resolution
be furnished the Honorable Board of County Commissioners for
Duval County, Florida, Harcourt Bull and Robt. R. Milem, pro-
spective donors of the pr000sed route , with the request that
all necessary steps be taken as soon as possible to provide for
t .is much needed thoroughfare.

Mr White made the following motion which was seconded by

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF ATLANTIC BEACH, That
it do and hereby does, direct and authorize E. J. Candee, Town
Clerk of the Town of Atlantic Beach, to deliver to C. C. Howell ,
Jr. , Town Attorney, in end for the said Town, copies from the
assessment rolls thereof, of assessments on the property of
The Mandalay Corporation, to be used in foreclosure proceedings
thereon, as by the Statutes in such cases is made and provided.
There being no further business for consideration, upon
motion .ut, seconded and carried, the meeting adjourned,
