COUNCIL HELD IN ROOM 1812 BARNETT NATIONAL BANK
BUILDING, SEPTEMBER 1, 1938 AT 2:30 P. M.
Present: Thomas W. Trout
G. L. Rosborough
J. C. Outler
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Trout of
the Finance Committee, who stated the purpose of the meeting was
to authorize the President of the Town Council to borrow funds
for the carrying on of the Town's business brought about as a re-
sult of depletion of funds pending the payment of taxes, new and
old.
On motion by Mr. Cutler, seconded by Mr. Rosborough, and
unanimously carried, the following resolution was adopted:
"A Resolution Authorizing the President of
the Town Council, and the Town Clerk of the Town
of Atlantic Beach, Florida, to Execute Promissory
Notes.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF ATLANTIC BEACH FLORIDA:
We, the Town Council of the Town of Atlantic
Beach, Florida, do hereby appoint E. L. Chiasson
and E. J. Candee, respectively the President of the
Town Council and the Town Clerk of the said Town,
our joint attorneys for us and in our name and stead,
to jointly, and in their respective official capacities,
draw, sign, and endorse promissory ndt es; and to waive
41fra' demand, notice, and notice of protest of all such
notes.
Giving and granting unto our said attorneys
full power and authority to do and perform all and
every act and thing whatsoever requisite, necessary
or proper to be done in and about the premises, as
fully to all intents and purposes, as we, acting
in an aggregate official capacity, might or could
do; hereby ratifying and confirming all that our
said attorneys shall lawfully do, or cause to be done,
by virtue hereof."
It was stated that the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ( 500)
would be considered sufficient to tide the Town over until additional

tax revenues would be in
hand, and accordingly, the President
of the Town Council was authorized to sign a note at the Florida
National Bank for this amount .
There being no further business, the meeting was
adjourned.
