11-08-38 v MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE ATLANTIC BEACH
TOWN COUNCIL HELD AT THE TOWN HALL AT 7:30 P. M.
NOVEMBER 8, 1938.
Present:
E. L. Chiasson
G. L. Rosborough
Thomas W. Trout
R. E. Sugg
Mayor Smith was also present.
Pursuant to previous notice the meeting was called
to order by E. L. Chiasson, President.
Upon motion of Mr. Rosborough, seconded by Mr. Trout,
the following resolution was unanimously passed :
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS,: the Gulf Life Insurance Company of Jacksonville,
kloridas. -holds a mortgage in the sum of One Thousand
Dollars against the Town Park , Town of Atlantic Beatih,
Florida, and
WHEREAS, the said mortgage falls due on November 12,
1938, and the Town does not at this time have funds
available for the payment thereof,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Town Council
of the Town of Atlantic Beach, Florida , that the Presi-
dent of the Council and the Town Clerk oe, and they are
hereby authorized and directed to negotiate the renewal
or extension of this mortgage for a period of time not
exceeding three years from the date of such renewal ,
said renewal or extension to provide for the payment
thereof in whole or in part at the option of the Town
and as funds may be provided therefore, on or before
the expiration date thereof:
I , C. R. Frazier, Town Clerk of the Town of Atlantic
Beach, Florida, do hereby certify that the above and
foregoing is a true and correst copy of an exerpt from
the minutes of a Special Meeting of the Atlantic Beach
Town Council, held at the Town Hall en November 8, 1938.

8th day of November, 1938.

Mr. Trout raised the question of a power mower end
stated that he had thoroughly investigated the matter and now
recommended the purchase of the Graveley from Merritt of Tampa ,
provided the Atlantic Beach Garden Circle would agree to Berry
through their proposition to pay $75. on the total purchase
410 price of 4185. , the Town to assume the balance.

Mr. Sugg seconded the motion to this effect and
it was unanimously passed. The Town Clerk was directed to
esntaat, the Committee of the Garden Circle and make the
necessary arrangement with the specific understanding that
the mower would become the property of the Town solely.
There being, no further business for consideration,
the meeting adjourned.
