Atlantic Beach Holding Company hereby requests that the plat of Selva Marina, as recorded in Plat Book 12, page 64 of the Public Records of Duval County, Florida, be vacated by resolution of the Town Council of Atlantic Beach. This plat covers a tract of land containing 50 acres, or thereabouts. In 1925 the property was sold to Mr. Louis I Bucholtz. He thereupon transferred the same to the Selva Marina Corporation and filed a plat thereof containing about 248 lots. None of the lots contained in the subdivision have ever been soic, and default having been made in payment of the mortgage, the property was taken back by the original owners. . In the Town of Atlantic Beach this property has always ` been taxed as acreage, but since the filing of the plat it has been taxed as separate lots for State and County taxes. None of the streets shown on the plat have ever been opened or in any manner improved, but since the plat was filed the owners have conveyed to the County Authorities, for park purposes, a strip of land. 100 feet wide on the west and a strip of land 30 feet wide on the north. The strip of land on the west practically widens out Sherry Drive as shown on the plat and renders valueless a large number of lots shown on the plat. The strip on the north takes the place of Sixteenth Street and renders valueless all the lots shown on the plat north of Sixteenth. Street. The owners have now paid all taxes of the State and County and of the Town of Atlantic Beach on this property, and are about to make application to the County Commissioners of Duval County for a vacation of the plat . The law under which the application will be made to the County Commissioners requires that the plat be first vacated by resolution of the Authorities of the Town in which the property is situated . By the vacation of this plat the Town of Atlantic Beach will lose nothing in the way of taxes, because the property will continue to be taxed as acreage just as it is taxed at the present time. Respectfully yours, Dated April 6, 1936. ATLANT $ BEACH HOLDING C0 E ANY By At li President r A f t
