Thompson, James D. Palmer, J. M. Bradfield. The meeting was called to order by Mr. Lawrence K. Tucker, Jr. , President. ' " The reading of the minutes of the meeting of June 1st was upon motion put , seconded andcarried, v. aived. Upon notion of Mr. Palmer, seconded by Mr. Stallngs, put and carried, the following bill was approved and ordered paid: Harvey Irlabry - services Rendered ,_each 1.,us Line vs. Fla. Motor Lines 575.00 Upon motion of Mr. Stallings, seconded by lir. Palmer, put andcarried, the following bill was approved and ordered paid: Girl Scout Council of Duval County, Fla. Inc . , :tdv. in Girl Scout Program 5.00 Upon motion of Mr. Stallings, seconded by Mr. Palmer, put and carried, an ordinance establishing the Electric & Plubbing fee for license was passed on the first and second reading. The question of posts being installed on the beach in front of the Sea-wall, having come up for discussion, the C'-air appointed Mr. Mabry to obtain from Col. Youngberg the amount his fee would be for handling of this ;natter and what grant the town is getting. The Mayor having vetoed the ordinance for roping off the teach during certain hours, a notion was made by I.i . Palmer, secon- ded by Mr. Stallings, put and carried that the ordinance be Passed over th.; Mayor' s veto and the roll being called, the vote was as follows: Ceorge B. Stallings - Yes E. H. Thompson - No James D. Palmer - Yes J. M. Bradfield - Yes Lawrence K.Tucker, Jr.- Yes and the ordinance stood passed. At that time Mr. Bradfield moved that the Town Marshal be instructed to close the Beach between the hours of three o' clock P. M. , and seven o' clock P. M. , every afternoon, excepting Sunday at which time the "own would' leave the beach open and place proper identifications showing that Beach is closed to vehicular traffic. Upon asecond to said motion, a vote was recorded unanimously, pass- ing said motion. The question of a State Enabling Act for a proposed zoning ordinance, having come up, a notion was made by Mr. iradfield, seconded by Mr. Palmer, put and carried that Mr. Mabry work this out with the City Planning Board so that it can be handled at the next meeting. Mrs. Bull brought to the attention of the Council the urgent need for and the splendid likelihood of being; able to ob- tain through Government funds, a Community House. She pointed out that the Government would furnish t-:to-thirds of the cost which left only one-t;gird to the sponsers. Thereupon a motion was made by Mr. Bradfield, seconded by Mr. Stallings, put and carried, that the Town sponsor this project. The question of registration for the coming election of August 11th having come up, a motion was' made by Mr." Bradfield, seconded by Mr. Thompson, put and carriedthat Col. V. E. Stolbrand be appointed .egistraticn Officer, in addition tothe Town Clerk. The advisability of obtaining a motor cycle for the ?Marshal came up for discussion and upon motion of Mr. Palmer, seconded by Mr. Bradfield, put and carried, it was turned over to the Chairman of the Police Committee, to investigate and. make suggestions as to type of motor cycle to be purchased, whether- old or new cycle be acquired and on what terms it should be id for. • There being no further' business for consideration, upon motion put, seconded and carried, the meeting adjourned.
