The meeting was called to order by Lawrence K. Tucker,
Jr., President.
Upon motion, seconded, put and carried, the reading of
the minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 4th was waived.
Upon motion of Mr. Bradfield, seconded by Mr. Thompson,
• put and carried, the following bills were approved:

A motion was made by Mr. Bradfield, seconded by Mr.
Thompson, put and carried, that the resignation of Mr. V. R.
410 Rooney, as night-watchman, be accepted as of December 15, 1935,
and that should he care to make application again next year
for the position of Marshall during the summer months, the
Council will be glad to consider same.
A discussion as to the advisability of hiring or doing
without a night-watchman for the winter months, having arisen, a
motion was made by Mr. Bradfield, seconded by Mr. Thompson, put
and carried, that the situation be left as $t is for the time
being, and if the need should arise for one, he could then be
secured.
A motion was made by Mr. Bradfield, seconded by Mr.
Thompson, put and carried, that the Treasurer, Mr. Osborne, be
authorized to pay bill of $504.13 to Hills and Youngberg, for
inspection services rendered under the provisions of the Speci-
fications, Page 14, Section 23, Paragraph (e) , (elating in

A motion was made by Mr. Bradfield, seconded by
Mr. Thompson, put and, carried, that the Clerk advise Mr. Osborne, so
Treasurer, to pay interest due on McCormick note of $425.00
and renew note for ninety days.
A motion was made by Mr. Bradfield, seconded by
Mr. Thompson, put and carried, that the following preambles
and resolution be adopted:
WHEREAS, Old Sherry Drive, in the Town of Atlantic Beach,
is a County Road from its junction with the Atlantic Boulevard
on the south to the street known as The Plaza on the north, and
is owned by Duval County. Florida, as a part of its Park System,
from the Plaza on the south to the section line between Section
16 and Section 9, Township 2 south, Range 29 east, on the north,
which said section line is in the northern boundary of the Town
of Atlantic Beach; and
WHEREAS, the County of Duval also owns a right-of-way
60 feet wide, being thirty feet on each side of said section
line and running from said Old Sherry Drive easterly to the
old Right-of-way of the Florida East Coast Railway Company; and
WHEREAS, said old right-of-way of the Florida East •
Coast Railway Company is part of the Seminole Beach Road,
which is now being opened and improved by the County, from
its. southern end at Sixteenth Street to Seminole Beach; and
WHEREAS, the street in Atlantic Beach known as The Plaza,
running from the old Florida East Coast Railway right-of-way,
on the east to the Mayport Road on the west, is a County Road
80 feet wide throughout its entire length; and
WHEREAS, the Atlantic Beach Garden Circle is petitioning
the Honorable .Board of County. Commissioners that the proper
convict force that may be necessary be put _to work opening
and shelling Old Sherry Drive, said Plaza and - said County
Right-of-way from said Old Sherry Drive to _ the southern end
of the Seminole Beach Road,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Council
of Atlantic Beach deems it to the best interest of said Town
that the said application of said. Atlantic Beach Garden Circle
be granted and joins with the Garden Circle in its said
petition, and prays that the same be granted by the Honorable 410
Board of County Commissioners; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of these preambles
and resolution be delivered by the Town Clerk to the Board of
County Commissioners.
It having been thought advisable to employ someone
for a limited time to assist the Clerk in the extra work of
making out and mailing the seawall assessment bills and in
other work occasioned ,by the P.W.A. beautification project,
Mr. Wilcox being present suggested Mr. C. R. Frazier.
Thereupon a motion was made by Mr. Bradfield, seconded
by Mr. Thompson, put and carried, that Mr. Thompson be
deputised to look into the matter and authorize the hiring
