10-01-34 v REGULAR MEETING OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLA. HELD OCTOBER 1ST, 1934, AT EIGHT O ' CLOCK P . M. AT THE TOWN HALL. PRESENT:- Jas. D. Palmer, J. Y. Bradfield, E. H. Thompson, Geo. B. Stallings, r ` N 4 =ti The meeting was called to order by Mr. E. H. Thompson, acting Chairman. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of Sept. 10th and likewise of the Special Equalization meeting of the same date, were read by the Clerk and qpproved as read. Upon motion. of Mr. Stallings, seconded by Mr. Thompson, put and carried, the following bill was authorized paid:- Robert E. Sugg, Gas and oil 9/11 to 9/28 $12.95 The Clerk read a letter from Mr. Mabry, City Atty , call- ing attention to the collections of delinquent taxes, which he had made to date, amounting to $157.31 and stating that he left it to the discretion of the Council as to his renumeration for this ser- vice. Whereupon a motion was made by Mr. Bradfield, seconded by Mr. Stallings, put and carried, that the Clerk be instructed to advise Mr. Mabry, that he should add 10% to each tax statement sent out, designating it as for collection fees. A release of patent rights from Shore-Line Builders Inc. to the Town of Atlantic Beach, having been received, a motion was made by Mr. Bradfield, seconded by Mr. Stallings, put and carried, that said release of patent be accepted and placed on file in the records at the Town Hall. Mr. H. Warren Smith, in charge of mosquito controll work being done at Atlantic Beach, gave a detailed account of the work already completed and outlired that still to be accomplished. He stated that it would take about eight weeks more to finish the project. That it would cost about $1,828.00 in labor which would be furnished by the F.E.R.A. , but that it was im- possible to furnish transportation, as it was judged that the towns benefitted by FERA, should bear some small share of the expense. In this instance the amount would be $172.80. Thereupon a motion was made by Mr. Bradfield, seconded by Mr. Stallings, put and carried, that the Town of Atlantic Beach, furnish transportation at $21.60 per week for thirty days from Sept. 27th.
