Luce, Mr. Luce advised him that the entire right of way, had been app, praised at $100,000. and that a part of this had already been sold as lots, which would complicate Atlantic Beach joining with Neptune and Jacksonville Beach in this project as some of the lots sold were within those municipalities. He also advised that the government will improve but will not pay anything for acquirement of land. Mr. Bradfieldthen cal- led to the attention of the Council, the :Fact that Atlantic Beach hadno funds avaulkabke ti carrt this transaction by it- self. He thereupon pointed out that there was a very likely possibility that the State Highway Dept. if properly approach- ed, could be brought to see the advisability of taking over Continental Drive, as a continuation of State Highway #78. and advised that all energy andeffort be directed to that end. He recommended that the Chairman of the State Highway Dept.
