Mr. Thompson, as Chairman of the Public ':forks Committee,
reportedthat certain repairs were badly neededon a number of streets.
Whereupon a motion was made by hr. Palmer, seconded by Mr. Thompson,
put andcarried that Mr. Thompson be given authority to purchase
lime rock to the a%iount of 50 to 60 yards, to be used for this pur-
pose. -
Mr. Bradfield as chairman of the Finance Committee, hav-
ing submitted, that the president, a budget for the ensuing year,
LL notion was made by Mr. Palmer, seconded by Yr. Thompson, put and
carried, that same be approved, inbluding his recommendation that
the millage again be seven, the same as last year.
The budget as submitted and approv3d is in words and figures
as follows:- 1933 - 34 Budget Dated Oct. 2, 1933.

duced.

about '$9601."00 'on the new building, and the fact that a large number
df ur'dpertY 'owners are not paying their taxes, it will be impos-

ting `exjienses.
Therefore, it is recommended that millage be again set at
7 mills.

A motion was made by Mr. Palmer, seconded by Mr. Thompson,
put a nd carried, that a maximum of $60.00 a month be approved for
police protection for the winter months or until a change is de-
cided upon.
A rl.otion was made b� Mr; 'Palmer; . seconded by Ur. Thom, son,
put and carried, that Mr. Harvey Mabry be reappointed as Town Atty.
at a compensation Of ? 5.00 for each meeting he attends and for
extra work, to receive a fee established on a reasonable basis and
mutually agreed upon.
Tyr, A. G. Pennman, being present in person, and having sub-
mitted a request in wrltinty that"his property consisting of 300
aches l:iore or less, in the baclispar•t of Atlantic Beach, be re-
duced from x$''61.24, the tax previously paid, to $40.00 owing to
it ' s remoteness and the fact that it is unimproved property, a
motion was made by Mr. Thompson, seconded by Mr. Palmer, put and
carried, that his request be granted a nd the taxes on this prop-
erty for 1933 be $40;00."

The Clark having called to the attention of the Council the
fact that a note for $50.00 in favor of Hunter Lynde, to apply on
Duval County expenses in conducting election relative to seawall,
would come due Oct . 12th, a motion was made b; Mr. Palmer, seconded
[ by Mr. Thompson, put and carried, that arrangements be made to pay
one half the note and the interest and the Clerk was instructed, up-
on notice from Mr. Osborne, Treasurer, to draw warrant for .25.00,
plus interest, to take care of this matter.
A copy of estimate per front foot, for construction of sea-
wall on ocean front property, was received frail Hills & Youngberg,
engineers, and the Clerk was instructed to file same.
There being no further business for consideration, upon
motion put and carried, the meeting adjourned .
