09-12-32 v METING OF THE TOWN COUNCIL CF ATLANTIC BEACH, SEPT. 12, 1932 AT R. E. SUGG'S STORE, AT 8 O'CLOCK P. M. PRESENT:- MICROFILMED E. H. Thompson, Geo. B. Stallings, Jas . D. Palmer Mr. J. M. Bradfield and Mr. Lawrence K. Tucker, Jr. were each in New York City on business. The meeting was called to order by Mr. E. H. Thompson, Vice Prasident, acting as chairman. Upon motion of Mr. Palmer, seconded by Mr. Stallings and being put to vote, the following preamble and resolution was unanimously adopted :- WHEREAS the Council at it 's last meeting, by resolution duly adopted, named to night, September 12th, 1932, as the time the Council would meet at it 's Town Hall for the purpose of equal- izing assessments and making proper correction, etc., in the 1932 Roll and , WHEREAS the place, to wit, the Town Hall, where the Council was to meet,has been destroyed by fire, and WHEREAS the preliminary assessment roll of the Town for the year 1932, prepared by the Town Tax Assessor, and approved and adopted by the Council at it 's last regular meeting as the Assessment Roll for the year 1932, was destroyed in said fire; MDR FORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Assessor be and he is hereby authorized, empowered and instructed to immediately make out and submit to the Town council, as soon as practicable, a preliminary Assessment Roll of the Town of Atlantic Beach for the year 1932; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the date on which the Council shall sit for the purpose of equalizing the assessments and mak- ing proper corrections in the assessment roll, as provided in the Town Charter, be postponed until eight o'clock, P.M. , on the night of the regular meeting in October, 1932, to-wit ; October 3rd, 1932. After a discussion by the members present of the sad and unfortunate death of the Town marshal and of the financial con- dition of his family, n motion of Mr. Palmer, seconded by Mr. Stallings, and on being put to vote, unanimously adopted , the Clerk was instructed to immediately pay to Mrs . Patrick, the marshal 's wife, the one hald (1/2) month's salary which would be due to Mr. Patrick on September 15th, 1932. On motion of Mr. Palmer, seconded by Mr. Stallings and on being put to vote, unanimously adopted, the meeting was adjourned until eight o'clock, P . M. on Wednesday, September 21st, 1932.
