ATLANTIC BEACH HOTEL AT 8, P. M. DEC. 5, 1932.

The meeting was called to order by Mr. Lawrence K. Tucker,
Jr. , Chairman.
A motion was made by Mr. Palmer, seconded. by Mr. Brad-
field, put a nd unanimously carried, to waive the regular order of
business.
The meeting was then thrown open by the president of
the Council for a general discussion of ways and means of build-
ing a bulkhead along the entire water front of Atlantic Beach.
For this discussion the president requested Mr. Sumter J. Lowry
to take the chair. After an ,_nimated, interesting and informa-
tive discussion which lasted one hour, it was decided to leave
the matter to the Town Council to determine the best method of
financing, to obtain competent advice on the different phases
of the situation and to proceed in general to the best interests
of the Town.
The open meeting was then closed.
Thereupon the usual proceedure was resumed by the Clerk
reading the minutes of Nov. 14th, which were approved as read.
Upon motion of Mr. Stallings, seconded by Mr. Thompson,
put and unanimously carried the following bills were approved: -

The Clerk having called the attention of the Council
to the fact that the Royal Typewriter Co. were willing to allow
the x16.00 rent on the hired machine, to apply on a factory re-
built machine, guaranteed for one year, the cost of which was
to be $55.00 cash, a motion was made by Mr. Palmer, seconded by
Mr. Stallings, put and unanimously carried, that the clerk be au-
thorized to draw a warrant for said amount in favor of the Royal
Typewriter Co. and to order the machine in question.
A letter was read by the Clerk from 'Wideman, Wideman &
Wardlaw of Palm Beach, in the interest of their client, Ethel C.
Shaw, in which they enclosed cheque for j71.75 for 1932 taxes and
requested they be allowed discount for prompt payment. Thereupon
a motion was made by Mr. Stallings, seconded by Mr. Palmer, put
and unanimously carried, that they be allowed a discount of 2%

The
Clerk read a notice informing the Town of Atlantic
Beach, of the first meeting of the creditors of Clarence David
Rollins, bankrupt.
! Upon motion put and carried this matter was referred to
I Mr. Harvey Mabry, City Attorney.
1 A motion was made by Mr. Bradfield, seconded by Mr. Pal-
mer, put a nd unanimously carried, that a list of delinquent li-
censes be furnished City Attorney Mabry and that he take steps
to collect same.
A resolution was made by Mr. Palmer, seconded by Mr. Brad-
field, put a nd unanimously carried to the effect that,
WHEREAS the records of the Town of Atlantic Beach, in-
cluding the books containing the list of registered, qualified
electors of the Town of Atlantic Beach and the assessed valua-
tion of the real estate of the T ,wn of Atlantic Beach, have been
destroyed by fire; and
WHEREAS any bonds that may be issued in accordance with
ordinances of the Town Council shall be limited to 105 of the
assessed valuation of the real estate within the Town: and
WHEREAS such bonds as may be issued must be approved
by the qualified electors who were qualified to vote in the i
Town election in August, 1932, and who are free holders of said
Town;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Attorney be
requested to advise the Council what steps are necessary for the
Council to take in order to pass the necessary ordinances a nd
to have a valid election for the approval of such bonds as may
be determined that it is necessary to issue, such opinion to be
directed especially to confining the bonds within the limitation
of 105 of the assessed value of the real estate and the manner
of determining who are qualified electors who are free holders,
since the Town records showing the same are destroyed.
A letter having been read by City Attorney Mabry from
the attorney' s of Jamie Patrick, requesting an early settlement
of her claim against the Town, it was moved by Mr. Bradfield,
seconded by Mr. Stallings, put and unanimously carried that if
Mr. Mabry was able to effect settlement for a sum, not to ex-
ceed one hundred dollars (eh]_On,nn,) the Clerk be authorized to
draw a warrant for that amount , uion receipt of the proper in-
formation from Mr. Mabry.
A motion was made by Mr. Bradfield, seconded by Mr.
Stallings, put a rd unanimously carried, that the matter of hav-
ing the Town truck put in spare time cleaning up streets, remov-
ing debris etc. be referred to the Public Works Committee.
There being no further business for consideration, upon
motion, rut and carried the meeting adjourned.
