Meeting of January 8, 1997
The regular meeting of the Committee was held on Wednesday,
January 8, in t}ie Conference Room of City-Hall. Present were:
Jack Robbins, C}ia.irperson, June Morris, Gloria Vaughn, and
Rorr Schiebler, City Gardener. The meeting was called to or-
der by Jack Robbins at 7:35 PM.
June Morris rt-oved to accept the minutes of the last meeting,
as wr~itterr; Gloria Vaughn seconded and the motion passed.
June reported on the luminary sale, advising that over $600
was deposited as sales. 'The reduction in sales from last
year can be accounted for, in part, by two or three of our
"top sellers" moving from the City or being ill.
A letter to all Atlantic Blvd. businesses about the Green-
scape grant plantings was discussed, as well as a news re-
lease to local newspapers about the median landscaping pro-
ject.
A date for the forthcoming "Arbor Day" celebration was dis-
cussed and it was decided to hold that event on the 3rd Sa-
turday in March {March 15). This will be further discussed
at the newt meeting.
A tentative date for the "Spring Bright Spots Tour" was also
decided upon. It will be held the 3rd weekend in May (May 17
arrd 18j. It, too, ceill be further discussed at the February
meeting.
Before concluding the meeting, Jack Robbins regretfully an-
nounced that he must resign as Chairperson due to work ob-
ligations. He will, however, remain as an active member of
the committee. Jurre Morris, Vice-Chairperson, will act in
t}ie c:apaci.ty of C}iair until the rre;ct regular annual election
of officers in April or May.
There was no further business and Jack adjourned the meeting
at 8:05 PM.
