CRC Minutes 5-3-93 vMINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE CHARTER REVISION COMMITTEE HELD IN
THE CONFERENCE ROOM, CITY HALL, 800 SEMINOLE ROAD, AT 7;00 PM ON
MONDAY MAY 3, 1993.
The meeting was called to order by Commissioner Tucker. In
addition to the chairman, the following committee members were
present: Ray Salman, Ruth Gregg, Dorothy Kerber, Bob Cook, Mark
Popp, Gregg McCaulie, and Maureen King. William Dorsey was absent.
Ray Salman explained it had been suggested at the previous meeting
that a preamble be drafted which would eliminate the editor's notes
following many of the. sections. Mr. McCaulie agreed to draft the
preamble and Mr. Cook offered to assist.
The revised sections were discussed and it was agreed Sec. 2(a)
and 2(b) should be combined and Mr. Cook agreed to do this.
Sections 1 and 3 will remain unchanged. Section 4 was accepted as
rewritten.
Discussion then ensued regarding Article III since the rewritten
version of Article II had not been submitted.
Article III, the City Manager, and Article IV, the City Clerk were
discussed at length and the suggested amendments are reflected in
the rewritten sections attached hereto and made a part hereof.
The next meeting of the Charter Revision Committee was scheduled
for 7:00 PM on Monday, May 17, 1993, following which Ms. Tucker
declared the meeting adjourned at 10:00 PM.
