Greater Flexibility…
Remote access to the entire system:
Building Official – completes an inspection of a house and can enter the results from the site, has the ability to check to see if any other permits
have been pulled and are outstanding. If the inspection fails, the building official can upload photos documenting the problem.
Contractor – As work is completed, the contractor can
log into the system and schedule the inspection; they can bring their projects up and review the status of each inspection; .
Code Enforcement Officer – While in the field, she can type
in a address and view the history of issues associated with the property. She can post photographs associated with an enforcement issue to the case file from her vehicle. While updating
the status of an issue with a business, she can pull up the Business License to ensure that it is up to date.
Business Owners have the ability to check the status of their license online.
Today
– Staff may attempt to call the City to check on a Business License or a Building permit. Most of the time, they note the item in question, and check it out when they return to their
office. Any follow-up takes place at a later date. The opportunity to complete the building or code inspection is missed because the staff member does not have access to all the information
that the City possesses available to them in the field. This application has the ability to give them that access.

More Information
The City of Atlantic Beach and Duval County have been mapping their territory for the past ten years. The City has integrated this mapped data with its Police crime reporting application,
as well as the Police Computer-Aided Dispatch application. This capability has not been implemented with our current enterprise application. The proposed application comes with the
ability to display a map on virtually every page that lists a street address or a parcel number.
Data is stored in data bases that are compatible with Microsoft Office applications (Excel),
which gives our employees the ability to extract information from the databases. We’ll be able to write reports and make calculations that we currently would need to contract with a
programmer to write.
