BACKGROUND: As part of the City's maintenance program, the ground and elevated
storage tanks at the City's water plants are in spected , rehabilitated and coated on a regular basis .
The City advertised for bids for repairs and coating of the int erior and extctior of the 300,000
ga ll on elevated storage tank at Water Plant #2 (230 1 Mayport Road ).
Four contractors attended the mandato ry pre-bid meeting and three contractors submitted bids:

contingency.
BUDGET: A tota l of$125,000 was budgeted for the project in the Water Fund under account
number 400-5502-533-63-00.
RECOMMENDATION: Award a contract for Bid No. 1314-09 for the Repair and Coating of
Elevated Tank at Water Plant #2 in the amount of$122,540 to Uti lity Service Co., Inc. and
authorize the City Manager to sign the contract.
