Repairs to the ceiling framing at the Ragtime Tavern were undertaken by Venture
Construction pursuant to construction documents prepared by Alta Engineering, titled
Structural Ceiling Repairs - Ragtime Tavern, dated November 21, 2014. During the
repairs, Alta Engineering Company (Alta) was onsite on (4) occasions to respond to the
contractor's requests for information (RFIs) and to perform quality inspections of portions
of the work that were completed at the time of our site visits. At the time the inspections
were performed, Alta was not aware that the local building authority would require a
letter from Alta stating that the work was completed in accordance with the
construction documents. Consequently, Alta did not take due care to examine each
and every component and review all materials, as it would be the course, if Alta were
performing third party inspections in lieu of the municipal inspection. As a result, Alta is not
able to provide a "certification" of the construction as it would for a Threshold or third-
party inspection project. However, Alta can state that the repair work that was observed
by Alta during our limited time on site was being completed in general accordance with
the referenced construction documents.
