Hi Elizabeth,
On behalf of the East Coast Greenway Association, I appreciate the opportunity to submit the
following comments.
1-The routes included in the final report for the subject study should include the existing route
for the East Coast Greenway(ECG)through the Beaches Focus Study area. The existing ECG
route currently follows Mayport Road from the St. Johns River Ferry to Plaza Street in Atlantic
Beach. The ECG then follows Plaza Street to Ocean Drive, which then becomes 1st Street. It
then follows Ocean Drive/lst Street nearly to the southern limits of the study area.

2-In the recommendations section of the final plan, please include a list of the existing physical
and jurisdictional obstacles that would prevent an alternate alignment for the East Coast
Greenway from being designated as part of the East Coast Greenway. This alternate alignment,
from north to south, would be as follows:
* leave Mayport Road just south of Wonderwood Drive at Montana Street,then
* via Montana Street through a Navy Base ousing development to Assisi Lane and then
* via Assisi Lane and a number of existing local streets that run from Assisi Lane to Levy
Road and Orchid Lane, and then
* on to Plaza Street.
As you recall, the existing ECG route, as well as the alternate ECG alignment as described
above, were reviewed with you and with representatives of the East Coast Greenway Association
in our conference call on July 10, 2015. Notes from that meeting were sent to you and the study
consultant on that same day, i.e. July 10, 2015.
