Item 6A- Resolution No. 17-28RESOLUTION NO. 17-28 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A NEW 2017 CAT 908M COMPACT WHEEL LOADER. WHEREAS, funds to purchase a new rubber tire loader were approved in the FY1718 budget by the City Commission; and WHEREAS, this equipment will be utilized by both the Public Works and Public Utilities Departments; allowing crews to more efficiently and safely transport materials for repairs and improvements on City streets; and WHEREAS, the Public Works Depmiment has rented similar equipment twice within the last year, including during the Hurricane lima cleanup, and having this resource in-house will be invaluable for both scheduled and reactive/emergency maintenance activities; and WHEREAS, the new 2017 Cat 908M Compact Wheel Loader is priced from the Florida Sheriff Association Bid pricing at $89,908.00, and includes the loader chassis, 48" pallet forks and a 3 year/3,000 hour powertrain warranty; and WHEREAS, $50,000 is budgeted in the Stormwater Machinery & Equipment Account 470-0000-538-6400 and $50,000 is budgeted in the Water Distribution Machinery & Equipment Account 400-5504-533-6400, for a total budgeted amount of$100,000. NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach as follows: SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes the purchase of a new 2017 Cat 908M Compact Wheel Loader; SECTION 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
