The meeting was called to order by Mayor Howell at 8:00 p.m. and they
immediately went into session as a Canvassing Board to receive the
Certificate of Results from the election officials covering the Primary
election of City Officials for Commission Seats 1 , 4 and 5. Copies of
the Certificate of Results of the primary election of October 1, 1985
were presented to the Board by Mayor Howell and the City Clerk.
Mayor Howell presented Resolution 85-23 certifying the results of the
Primary Election of the City of Atlantic Beach, Florida held on Tuesday,
October 1, 1985.

ORDINANCE NO. 90-85-93
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24 OF THE
COMPREHENSIVE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE
CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA; AMENDING
THE ZONING ATLAS OF PROPERTIES ALONG
MAYPORT ROAD FROM ATLANTIC BOULEVARD TO
THE NORTH CITY LIMITS TO PROVIDE A MORE
SUITABLE LAND USE CONSISTENT WITH THE
CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH COMPREHENSIVE PLAN;
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Advisory Planning Board of the City of Atlantic Beach
has made a study of the zoning along the Mayport Road Corridor, and
WHEREAS, the Advisory Planning Board has held public hearings on
the same, and has made its recommendations to the City Commission, and
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds the recommendations of the
Advisory Planning Board relative to comprehensive rezoning of the
Mayport Road Corridor is consistent with the Land Development Code and
the Comprehensive Plan adopted by the City, and the zoning will not
adversely effect the health and safety of the residents of the area, and
and will not be detrimental to the natural environment or to the use or
development of the adjacent properties in the general neighborhood,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The real property depicted on the attached map and made
a part hereof is hereby zoned as indicated under the zoning code of the
City of Atlantic Beach, Florida, in compliance with the recommendations
of the Advisory Planning Board to the City Commission.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect on its adoption.

That it is hereby found and determined by the City Commission of Atlantic
Beach, Florida, acting in the capacity of a Canvassing Board that the
qualified voters who participated in said Primary Election cast their votes
in favor of the following candidates as follows:

SEAT NO. 4, COMMISSIONER, William I. Gulliford ELECTED
