Minutes 9-24-62, Page #2
Mr. Printon presented Resolution #62-24 designating a sewer dis-
trict at NE corner of Atlantic Blvd. and Mayport Rd. being a part
of Castro Y Ferrer Grant and read same in full. The matter was
discussed and it was brought out that the Kon-Tiki and the Red
Barn Barbecue place were badly in need of the sewer service, and
would be served by this line. Following discussion Mr. Claiborne
moved that the Resolution as presented be adopted, seconded by
Mr. Moore and carried. Copy of Resolution #62-24 is attached to
these minutes and made a part thereof.
Mr. Printon reported that he had talked to the property owners
at corner of Third St and the Ocean Front relative to the cost
of replacing their seawall and found that money is the factor
with them. If the City took any part in the cost of this replace-
ment it would be establishing a policy and it was not felt we
should do this. The matter was further discussed and Mr.Claiborne
suggested that perhaps some help could be gotten from the govern-
ment under the Land Reclamation program. Mr. Johansen appointed
a committee - namely J.B. Claiborne, C.B. Lawrence, Jr. , and
John R. Printon to look into the matter and report back to
the Commission on same.
There were no reports from Commissioners.
There being no further business Mr. Johansen declared the meeting
adjourned.
