MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE ATLANTIC BEACH CITY
COMMISSION HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON MONDAY, JANUARY 8TH, 1962
AT 8 P.M.

The meeting was called to order by the Mayor-Commissioner,
Mr. Isaacs.
Minutes of the meeting of December 26th, 1961 were approved '.
as written upon motion of Mr. Moore, seconded by Mr. Lawrence,
and carried.
Mr. Isaacs recognized visitors present and called for any busi
ness from the floor. Mr. Richard K. Jones of Beil & Hough, Inc.
requested that if the City should do any new financing that his
company be given an opportunity to submit a proposal. Mr.
Isaacs assured him that if the City should do any bond financ-
ing that they would be given consideration for proposal.
Mr. Pleasant Gay presented plans for an addition to store build-
ing on Atlantic Blvd. and-requested the Commission to give ap-
proval for permit on same. Mr. Waggoner advised that he had
just seen the plans and - that they appeared to be in order, with
a few minor corrections . The matter was discussed following
which Mr. Lawrence moved that the plans be approved for permit
subject to the inspection and approval of the City Manager as
to structure, code, etc., seconded by Mr. Moore and carried.
Mr. Al James , who was present with Mr. Wm. Morgan; advised that
both he and Mr. Morgan want to come into the City. The other
owner contacted is not quite sure yet. The matter was further
discussed and Mr. James and Mr. Morgan advise that they will
send the City a letter requesting that they be annexed.
Mr. Waggoner asked for permission to call for bids on a new
pick+up truck - bids to be received at the next meeting January
22nd, 1962. Mr. Lawrence moved that approval be given as re-
quested, seconded by Mr. Moore and carried.
Mr. Isaacs presented an Ordinance ix. full in writing providing
for the changing of the Territorial Limits of the City by annex-
atio of the Selva Marina Country Club tract as requested by
them. Mr. Lawrence moved that the rules be waived and that the
Ordinance as presented be considered by title only on first
reading, seconded by Mr. Moore and carried. Whereupon the Mayor

Mad the Title to said Ordinance in full. Mr. Lawrence moved
that said Ordinance be passed by title only on first reading} '
seconded by Mr. Moore, and carried. January 22, 1962, 8 P.M.,
was set as date for Public Hearing on this Ordinance.
A letter was read from Dr. D.G. Scott thanking the City for the
prompt action of the Fire Department personnel given at time
of his father's severe and fatal heart attack.
The December 1961 report of the Fire Department was read and
filed.
The annual report of the Fire Department for the year 1961 was
read and filed.
The annual report of the Police Department for the year 1961
was read and filed.
P•ir. Wm. S. Smith requested a meeting with the Commission fol-
lowing this meeting to discuss the utility bill of the Atlantic
Gardens Apartments for the 2nd quarter 1961.
There being no further business , the Mayor declared the meeting
adjourned.
