COMMISSION HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON,
APRIL 10, 1963 AT 4: 30 P. M.

This meeting was called pursuant to rules governing special
meetings.
The meeting was called to order by the Mayor-Commissioner,
Mr . Isaacs.
Mr . Lawrence reported on the study he and Mr . Printon had
made covering the bids on the Sewage Lift Station "C" pump
and Control Panel and advised that they had gone over same
in detail and it is their recommendation that the bid of
John Horne in the amount of $3 , 725. 00 be accepted. He advised
that this bid includes the assembling and installing of the
equipment. After discussion, Mr . Claiborne moved that the
recommendation of the committee be accepted and that the bid
be awarded to John Horne in the amount of $3,725.00, seconded
by Mr. Johansen and the call vote was:
Aye: Claiborne, Johansen, Lawrence, Isaacs
Nay: None
Absent: Moore
Whereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried.
Mr. Lawrence next reported on the bids for Park equipment
and advised that he and Mr. Printon had studied the bids and
it was their recommendation that the bid of the All Florida
School and Supply Company in the amount of $1, 463 . 55 be
accepted - they recommended that the alternates be taken.
It was advised in the discussion that the tables and benches
will be built by the City. Following the discussion, Mr .
Claiborne moved that the bid of the All Florida School and
Supply Company for playground equipment be accepted as

recommended, seconded by Mr. Johansen and the call vote was:
Aye: Johansen, Lawrence, Claiborne, Isaacs
Nay: None
Absent: Moore
Whereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried.
The bids for the lights for the playground (ball park) were
next discussed. It was advised that Jacksonville Beach
would install the lights on a regular pay scale for us and
Mr . Lawrence advised that after studying the bids and equip-
ment, he and Mr. Printon would recommend that the bid of the
Ace Electric Supply Company, which was next to the lowest
bid and called for GE equipment #L 69A fixture with 120 volt
GE lamp, be accepted in the amount of $2, 137 .60 for 64 fix-
tures . The parts and equipment were discussed, following
which Mr. Claiborne moved that the bid of the Ace Electric
Company be accepted as recommended by the Finance Committee,
seconded by Mr. Lawrence and the call vote was:
Aye: Lawrence, Claiborne, Johansen, Isaacs
Nay; None
Absent: Moore
Whereupon the Mayor declared said motion carried.
A request was presented for help which is needed by the
Little League Baseball Club either in cash or equipment.
Mr. Lawrence suggested that equipment be given. It was the
consensus of opinion that we should help with equipment
rather than cash donation. The City Manager was instructed
to buy necessary ball equipment up to $250.00.
There being no further business, the meeting was declared
adjourned by the Mayor-Commissioner, Mr. Isaacs.
