MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE ATLANTIC BEACH CITY
COMMISSION HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON TUESDAY NIGHT, NOVEMBER 17th,
1964 AT C P.M.

This Special meeting was called in line with rules governing
the calling of special meetings.
The meeting was called to order by the Mayor•Commiss_ioner, Mr.
Olsen. The Invocation was given by Mayor Olsen.
A report was received from the Awards Committee on the bids for
2 new Police cars. The Committee after tabulation and review
recommended that the award be made to the lowest bidder, John
Deihl Chevrolet Co. in the amount of $4, 270.09 with delivery
in 4 to C weeks. This was the lowest bid and meets specifi.ca•
tions. Mr. Parks moved that the report of the Awards Committee
be accepted .and that the purchase of the police cars be made
as recommended, seconded by Mr. Moore and following discussion
the question was put and the motion carried. Mr. Olsen will
contact Mr. Deihl to see if can get as much push as possible on
delivery.
Mr. Olsen presented Resolution -64+31 covering transfer of funds
to cover purchase of the cars and a typewriter from the 1964
budget. It was discussed following which Mr. Weldon moved the
adoption of said Resolution, seconded by Mr. Parks and carried.
Copy os Resolution ff€4-31 is attached to these minutes and made
a part thereof.
Mr. Craig requested approval to call for bids on a backhoe
machine to be received by 0 P.M. on December 14th, 19E4. Our
present machine is completely gone and we are having to rent one
for emergencies. He advised that necessary papers are ready. It
can be financed by paying 1/2 within 30 days after delivery and
the :balance one year later. Mr. Thompson advised that buying on
the conditional sales agreement type plan is customary practice
and they have the recourse of taking back their equipment if we
fail to make payment. There was further discussion following

which Mr. Parks moved that Mr. Craig be authorized to call for
bids on a back-hoe machine as proposed, bide, to be received by
8 P.M. on December 14th, 1964, seconded by Mr. Weldon and car-
ried.
There being no further business the Mayor declared the meeting
adjourned.

After tabulation and review, it is our considered opinion
that the bid of John Deihl Chevrolet is the lowest bid
and meets the specifications.
We recommend award to John Deihl Chevrolet in the amount of
$4, 278.09. Adequate funds are budgeted in Acct. #1003A
and available for payment as required.
