HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 3, 1967 AT 7:30

The meeting was called to order by the Mayor-Commissioner, Mr.
Howell, and immediately went into session as a Canvassing
Board to receive the Certificate of Results from the Election
Officials covering the Primary Election of City Officials
for Commission Seats 1, 2 and 3.
Copies of the Certificates of Results of the Primary Election
of October 3, 1967 were presented to the Board by the Mayor
and City Clerk. Mayor Howell then read Resolution #67-10
accepting the returns and specifying the elected officials.
Mr. Goodling moved the adoption of said Resolution #67-10,
seconded by Mr. Parks and carried. Whereupon Mr. Howell
declared said Resolution adopted and the following officials
duly elected as indicated:
Seat #1 - William S. Howell, Mayor-Commissioner - (2 Years)
Seat #2 - Arthur J. Longo, Commissioner - (4 Years)
Seat #3 - Robert R. Rosborough, Commissioner - (4 Years)
Copy of Resolution #67-10 is attached to these minutes and made
a part hereof.
Chief Vogel announced there would be a meeting in the County
Commission Chambers on Friday morning, October 6th at 10:00
A. M. on subject of Stream Pollution. City officials are
particularly invited to attend.
There being no further business the Mayor declar-= he meeting

WHEREAS, the Inspectors and the Clerk of the Primary
Election held in Atlantic Beach, Florida, on October
3rd, 1967, for the purpose of electing a Mayor-
Commissioner and two Commissioners canvassed the

Tuesday, October 3rd, 1967, for the purpose of electing a Mayor-

ducted said election on said date and counted the ballots and
find the results to be as follows:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That it is hereby unanimous-
ly voted that said returns be accepted as reported, and
That it is hereby found and determined by the City
Commission of Atlantic Beach, Florida, acting in the
capacity of a Canvassing Board, that a majority of the
qualified voters who participated in said Primary Election
cast their votes in favor of the above candidates as
follows:
SEAT #1, MAYOR-COMMISSIONER: Wm. S. Nowell 579
SEAT #2, COMMISSIONER: Arthur J. Longo 350
SEAT #3, COMMISSIONER: Robert R. Roeborough 353
and it is further found and determined that the above
named candidates are duly elected to serve for two years
for Seat #1, and to serve 4 years for Seats #3 and #4.
And be it Further Resolved, that all Candidates be and
are hereby commended for the dignified manner in which their
campaigns were conducted in said election.
Passed by the City Commission October 3rd, 1967.
