MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE ATLANTIC BEACH CITY COMMISSION
HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 8, 1967 at 8: 30 P. M.
Present:
William S. Howell, Mayor-Commissioner
Donald L. Goodling
W. J. Parks, Jr. , Commissioners
and
R. C. Vogel, Acting City Manager
Adele S. Grage, City Clerk
Absent: Louis C. Holloway, Jr.
John W. Weldon, Commissioners
Frank Thompson, City Attorney
The meeting was called to order by the Mayor-Commissioner, Mr.
Howell.
He then declared the meeting in session as a Canvassing Board
to receive the results of the special election relating to the
consolidation with the City of Jacksonville.
Certificates by Officials of the result of the election were
presented to the Board by the Mayor and the City Clerk.
Mr. Parks moved the certificates of results as presented be
accepted, seconded by Mr. Goodling and carried.
Mayor Howell then read Resolution #67-6 covering the Canvassing
of the votes and declaring the Act Amending House Bill #3029,
Laws of Florida, Special Acts of 1967 as approved. Mr. Parks
moved passage of said Resolution #67-6, seconded by Mr. Goodling
and carried. Copy of Resolution #67-6 is attached to these
minutes and made a part hereof.
The City of Atlantic Beach will become the 3rd Urban Services
District and retain the same local governmental structure, boards.
bodies, officers and laws of its former municipality under the
consolidated City of Jacksonville.
There being no further business, Mayor Howell declared the meet-
ing adjourned.

WHEREAS, the Inspectors and the Clerk of the Special Referendum
Election held in Atlantic Beach, Florida, on August 8th, 1967,
for the purpose of Approval or Disapproval of Act Amending House
Bill #3029, Laws of Florida, Special Acts of 1967, canvassed the
votes cast and did make the returns on the same in words as

the Special Referendum Election in the City of Atlantic Beach, on Tuesday,
August 8th, 1967, for the purpose of Approval or Disapproval of Act

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That it is hereby unanimously
voted that said returns be accepted as reported, and
That it is hereby found and determined by the City Commission
of Atlantic Beach, Florida, acting in the capacity of a
Canvassing Board, that a majority of the qualified voters who
