The program is called, Atlantic Beach Cares. Over the years this program has helped many customers caught up in financial hardships such as a loss of job, illness or other unexpected expenses to keep their utilities on. The program is administered by BEAM (Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministry) a local non- profit with an office on Mayport Road at no cost to the program. A BEAM representative meets with each customer to determine their needs. Based on the interview, BEAM recommends assistance from the Atlantic Beach Cares program fund. Utility assistance from the program is allowed once every '18 months. The program is totally funded by contributions from our utility customers. If you would like to assist others through this program, please take the time to fill out the Atlantic Beach Cares authorization form below and return it to City Hall. A charge in the amount of your monthly donation will appear on your utility bill each month. When you pay your bill a credit in the amount of your donation is added to the Atlantic Beach Cares fund. Please return the completed form to City Hall, 800 Seminole Road, Atlantic Beach, Florida 32233. If you have any questions concerning the Atlantic Beach Cares program please call Jim Perkins, Customer Service Supervisor at (904) 247-5816.
